About the RCI Community of Practice

The RCI Community of Practice is an organized, supportive network for all RCI participants. The Community of Practice serves as a forum for peer learning that is separate from the trainings and one-on-one technical assistance offered by RCI. In the Community of Practice, RCI participants communicate, engage, and share knowledge with each other, as well as crowdsource insights, lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.

If you would like to become a member of the RCI Community of Practice, please request support to join RCI. If you would like more information, please contact RCI@dot.gov.

The Community of Practice offers the following virtual and in-person activities:

Webinars

Community of Practice webinars allow participants to offer their insights on, knowledge of, and experiences with transportation planning and reconnection. Webinar topics are identified as topics of interest by multiple Community of Practice participants. Each 1-hour webinar features RCI technical assistance recipients as speakers or panelists.

Working Groups

Working Groups allow Community of Practice participants from different communities to work together to learn more about a particular reconnection topic or develop solutions to a shared reconnection challenge. Each Working Group includes approximately 8-10 participants and meets regularly throughout the year.

Peer Exchange

The Peer Exchange enables two communities to learn from one another virtually and in-person. Traveling to a peer city that is a leader in a specific area can provide inspirational models of success, facilitating knowledge transfer and motivating participants in their own projects, turning ideas into action. A community will be paired with another community based on their learning objectives.
