Equity and Environmental Justice

Equity and environmental justice (EJ) are vital to a community because they ensure fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, in policies and decisions. This fosters a healthy, sustainable environment where everyone can thrive, reducing disparities and promoting social cohesion.

Climate and Environmental Justice Screening Tool (CEJST) | CEQ

This tool features an interactive map utilizing datasets across eight categories: climate change, energy, health, housing, legacy pollution, transportation, water and wastewater, and workforce development. It identifies communities burdened by these factors, highlighting those that are both overburdened and underserved, thus disadvantaged.
